ALBIES BOUTIQUE

HANDMADE LUXURY FOR THE PET YOU ADORE

Albie’s Boutique set in the heart of the wonderfully eclectic Fargo Village in Coventry, was started by Sarah Mills and her dog Albie. Fargo Village allows unique small businesses to have a platform and space for selling their products and marketing their creative ideas. At a reasonable price for a container space, Sarah initially joined forces with another business owner for space in Container No 8. Now, this unique business owner has been able to see growth of business into the main market hall of Fargo Village, where her initial business companion now runs the shop space, with Albie’s Boutique renting space and Sarah takes care of online sales and events.
Sarah’s idea for her small handmade business came from bringing her dog to work in smart little bow ties. Everybody loved seeing Albie all dressed up in Sarah’s handmade bow ties and soon, the idea for selling her handmade products came to life. After 15 years working in teaching, Sarah decided to start her business in 2016. She has been utilising the creative space at Fargo village for a permanent location to sell her handmade dog products and also, takes part in plenty of events in and around Coventry and Warwickshire. Sarah has loved the eccentric mix of individuals at Fargo Village and prides herself on being part of a community of unique, independent business owners. Sarah grew up in Coventry and holds a very special place in her heart for the local community. She loves running and walking in the Warwickshire countryside in her spare time, as well as taking her two Cockapoos, Albie and Bella, out on adventures.
After only one year of setting up her business, Sarah decided to open her own Etsy shop. In October 2017, Sarah began selling her handmade dog collars, bandanas and bow ties online and has been able to sell products to a wide variety of dog owners across the world. Sarah’s luxury pet products are aimed at individuals who love spoiling their pets and she even offers fun seasonal products, such as Halloween themed bandanas and Christmas themed bowties. We love that man’s best friend can look effortlessly smart and even more adorable with Sarah’s clever and creative accessories. Sarah’s most popular product is her tartan fabric bowties and she has plans for the future to bring out some collars and leads.
Sarah makes all her products herself and occasionally brings in some help from her husband for the hands-on building things, such as making and painting the pet feeders she offers for sale. Sarah often ropes in help from Albie and Bella too, as we all know that a cute pup in a bow-tie is a great way to sell her dog products! We know we can’t resist seeing dogs looking smart and adorable!
Whilst Sarah’s products have residence in Fargo village where she loves the honest community of independent businesses, Sarah enjoys working from home where she manages online transactions and creating fun and fresh products. She finds that having the platform of Etsy and social media for selling her products, she can enjoy spending more time at home and is still able to build her business’ reputation at the same time.
If you haven’t already had the chance to check out Albie’s Boutique, we recommend you make your way down to Fargo Village. You’ll also find Sarah and her lovable dogs at plenty of upcoming shows where she will be selling her awesome handmade products. And of course, just like us, you won’t be able to resist gushing over pictures of her dogs rocking those bow-ties and bandanas on Instagram. We especially love seeing all her customer’s dogs rocking their birthday bandanas!
